Visiting London from Toronto, I knew I wanted to pick up a lot of records on my trip. Nothing like the sound of a good UK pressing. This wonderful, little shop ended up being one of the most magical record stores I had ever been to, having an OUTSTANDING selection I was looking for. David is by far one of the friendliest store owners I’ve met and was very accommodating in finding what I needed in addition to a pleasant chat! If you’re a record collector in London, this is a MUST VISIT.
This little gem of a record shop is located between Hornsey Overground Station and Crouch End Village and is well worth spending some quality time exploring. For the size of the place it has a massive selection of vinyl from originals, reissues and second hand. Prices range from as little as a few quid to hundred plus for real collectors items. The owner is super friendly and always willing to chat and spend time with customers. They will also buy your old Vinyl too! Check it out and you won’t be disappointed! Had a great experience selling some vinyls I no longer used, saw some positive reviews on Google so thought I’d give David a go. He was incredibly friendly and gave me a very good price for them, will definitely be going back for buying/selling in the future.

One of the best vinyl stores in London with probably the most consistent/best stock in the country! An amazing selection of vinyl, very fairly priced and all in top condition. Store owner David is a true pro, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. There is nothing quite like old vinyl and this place is testament to that, it’s pure vinyl heaven! Definitely recommend.
This is a fantastic shop, and a real gem! A fun place to look for records – you never know what you will come across. David, the owner is very friendly and there’s a really nice atmosphere in the shop. There’s also a couple of decks to test the records on which are really well looked-after and in perfect working order so you can be confident about what you are buying. I checked mine, and they were perfect. I got some great stuff – The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Specials and Depeche Mode. Brilliant place, and I will definitely be back!
December 2018- Dave has a great shop! Coming from NYC where record shops are usually picked through to the bone, this one has real gems hiding out in those boxes. Really appreciate the help and steering to where the good beat stuff is in the shop. Will make it a must visit every time I am over there. Spinning my David Whitaker now!
December 2023 – Finally made it back to the shop after so many years of salivating, waiting for another chance and it did not disappoint. Found some amazing gems again and great to say hello to David again. Hopefully it is only months, not years, between visits.
David is friendly, knowledgable and helpful, he knows his records and is quick to recommend vinyl he thinks that you might like. He knows his regular customers by name and gives better prices than anyone else locally. He also sells at very reasonable prices and will often do a deal when purchasing in bulk. I would highly recommended anyone to visit, especially if you’re looking to add to a specialist collection. The Little Record shop is the first place I head for when I’m looking for rare jazz records, which David always has plenty of.
David was professional, kind and efficient in helping me move on a small vinyl collection of mine. He gave me a very fair price and the perfect amount of insight into his reasonings. Don’t normally post public reviews but make an exception with David and the Little Record Shop. He came round within half an hour of contacting and gave a fair price for around 150 LPs. I’m kind of shocked at how much vinyl costs. Particularly 80s and early 90s records that I thought weren’t worth too much. But David gave a fair offer and I accepted. Would recommend.
I had a collection of 850 records that I needed to sell. After a Google search I found David, and his reviews seemed good. I contacted him on a Sunday, within a few hours we had arranged for him to view my collection the next day. David arrived on time. We had a pleasant few hours together whilst he went through the records. He didn’t take all of my records, just the ones he knew he could sell, so keep that in mind. Also, he won’t buy ‘charity shop ” records (we all know the ones). He offered me a good price for the ones he wanted, and advised me how I could sell what was left. All in all a great experience,I would recommend David to anyone.

The Little Record Shop in Crouch End is my favourite record shop in London by miles… There is always a superb selection of records. My tastes are for metal, classic rock, progressive rock and jazz rock and I always find something I want. Really superb selection… But also David, the proprietor, is super nice. He knows all his customers personally, and always makes conversation, and goes out of his way to give you a good discount, especially if you buy a few records together… Definitely the best in town… Head down there!
